Lady Cats Soccer Goes 1-1 Last Week (09/26/17)

The Clarion Area Lady Cat Soccer Team extended their winning streak to 6, with a 3-0 victory at Redbank Valley, on Tuesday (September 19th) evening.

Alexa Hannold led the offense, recording her second hat trick of the season.  Wendy Beveridge earned Clarion their sixth shutout of the 2017 season.  Gabby Weaver anchored the Lady Cat defensive line, limiting the Redbank chances and extending their current streak of not allowing an opponent’s goal to an impressive 450 minutes.

The win improves the Lady Cats’ record to 6-3 this season.

On Thursday evening (September 21st) the Clarion Area Lady Cats hosted the Ridgway Lady Elkers.

Ridgway started fast, maintaining the majority of possession throughout the first half.  The Lady Elkers’ managed to gain a 2-0 lead by halftime, from goals by Katie Dybowski and Rylee Casilio.

The Lady Cats regained their form in the second half, creating good scoring opportunities on a number of occasions.

In the end, the Lady Elkers’ defense held the Clarion offense in check and earned a 2-0 victory.

The Lady Cats’ record now stands at 6-4 this season.  The team looks to rebound from this loss with back to back games this week, Thursday (September 28th) at Karns City and Friday (September 29th) at West Forest.
