Soccer: U15 Strikers Open Season At 1-1 (09/19/17)

U15 Striker Team travels to Kinzua

The U15 Striker team traveled to Kinzua for their first game of the season Sunday, September 10th.

Striker Bailee Verdill was the only player to score in the first half to put Clarion up by one.

After the halftime break, Kinzua quickly got a goal to tie the game at 1 -1. Kinzua was able to score again to put them in the lead with a score of 2-1.

Bailee Verdill was able to tie the game at 2 when he drove through the Kinzua defense to put one past the Kinzua goalie. Next to score was Eva Lerch.  Making the final score Strikers 3 Kinzua 2.

The entire team looked great from the first whistle to the last!!

Great way to start the season!!

U15 Striker Team Comes up Short in Greenville

The U15 Striker Team traveled to Greenville on Sunday, September 17th.

Greenville is always a tough competitor and this year’s team is no different.  They struck first and had 4 goals before halftime.  Bailee Verdill missed a penalty kick by inches when it just sailed over top of the goal.

After another goal by Greenville, Coach Kevin made a goalie change at the half putting Blaise Cunningham in.

Ashton MacKinlay was the first Striker to get one past the Greenville goalie to give them some life! A give and go by Bailee Verdill and Lexi Coull gave the Strikers the second goal….Verdill had the goal making the score 5-2.  Eva Lerch was next to strike making the score 5-3.  Greenville had one additional goal at the end of the game.

Final score Greenville 6 CRVS 3

The team travels to Erie next Sunday for their 3rd game of the season.
