Help the new WPAL Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Program grow! (10/04/17)

(Submitted by WPAL DuBois)
The WPAL DuBois Fitness Center is a non for profit community center located in Downtown DuBois. WPAL is 100 percent free to everyone between the ages 6 and 18 and anyone currently attending high school. The WPAL also encourages local law enforcement officials to work out in its gyms, free of charge, with the kids from the area.  Adult members pay a nominal fee for use of the facility.
WPAL gyms create relationships between the volunteers and local youths; relationships that help steer young people away from activities involving crime, violence and drugs. The goal is to give children a place to go after school, on weekends and during the summer months where they can participate in activities of their choice while being surrounded by positive influences.
Currently the size of the new Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program is out growing our current mat space and is in need of more. We are seeking funds to give this growing program the mat space it needs and keep increasing its new members.
The Jiu Jitsu program’s growth at WPAL Dubois is currently being limited by the room for practitioners to grapple. The program began in early June and has a number of local police, fireman, and community members involved. If we can get the necessary mat space we can continue expanding our audience and associated benefits. See WTAJ Story on Program Here. WPAL BJJ
