Lions Soccer Wins Another, Qualifies For Playoffs (10/04/17)

The Clarion-Limestone Lions continued their win streak with a 7-1 victory over DuBois Central Catholic, Wednesday night, October 4th.

The Lions had a slow start, but were able to get things rolling. Isaac Kim started off the scoring for the Lions with an unassisted goal. Kyle Schonbachler continued the scoring for C-L with an unassisted goal of his own.

DCC continued to battle hard though and would eventually answer back with a goal of their own, by Harrison Starr, to keep the score close at 2-1.

The Lions worked hard to clean up their possesion game and responded with a goal by Ben Murtha off an assist by Kyle Schonbachler to end the half, leaving the score still close at 3-1.

Starting off the second half, the Lions got their offense and possession game rolling and would hold DCC scoreless, while scoring four goals of their own. Scoring goals for the Lions were Braden Peters assisted by Ty Blake, Ty Blake assisted by Donovan Montgomery, Connor Nichols assisted by Donovan Montgomery, and Beau Verdill assisted by Braden Peters.

Harrison Porter earned another win in net for the Lions stopping 2 out of 3 shots on net.

The Lions qualified for play offs this week and improved their record to 7-1. The Lions will be back in action at home Tuesday, Oct. 10th at 6:30 against Redbank Valley.
