Three Bobcats Named To KSAC All-Conference Basketball Teams (03/12/14)

The Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference has selected their 2013-14 All-Conference Basketball Teams and three Bobcats were named.

Two Lady Cats made the squad. Junior Guard, Maci Thornton was named to the Girls’ First Team and Senior Forward, Kyla Miles, made the Second Team. Sophomore Guard, Taylor Smith was named to the Third Team on the Boys Squad.

Heading into the Second Round PIAA State Playoff game with Quigley Catholic, Thornton has 431 points (16ppg.). She is averaging around 6 steals and 4 plus assists a game. Miles has 446 points (16.5ppg) and over 200 rebounds. Miles scored her 1,000th career point earlier this year and Thornton is 10 points away from scoring her 1,000th.

Smith scored 299 points (13ppg). He had 70 three-point field goals, which ranks 8th, in the state, overall and 2nd in Class-A.

This season’s Girls’ MVP was Emily Merryman, from Cranberry. Clarion-Limestone’s R. J. Laugand was named Boys MVP.
