Clarion Cross Country Hosts Cooks Forest Distance Project To Prepare For The Bobcat 5K (07/30/14)

The Cooks Forest Distance Project is a training and racing group headed up by North Clarion Cross Country Coach Scott Delaney for the purpose of bring together area runners for weekly long runs as well as to compete and race over the summer. The group also includes some community runners and walkers.

On Sunday July 28th, the Clarion XC team played host to the distance project to run the course together and play some ultimate frisbee.

Look for members of the distance project at the Bobcat 5K in their green racing jerseys.The 2nd Annual Bobcat 5K Trail and 1 Mile Fun Run will be held Saturday August 2, 2014 at Clarion County Park Cross Country Course, home of the 2014 KSAC Championships. The 1 mile fun run will begin at 9AM and the 5K at 9:30AM. This years race will feature “Championchip” timing by Runners High and a team challenge.

The Bobcat 5K is a unique race in our area is run all on trails and grass and run within the confines of the county park. It features a scenic outlook, and supports the Clarion Area Cross Country Boosters and PTO.
