CRVS U10 Green Team Downs Fox Chapel 3-0 (05/13/15)

After a tough loss against Central Valley last week, the U10 Strikers met up with Fox Chapel on a hot Mother’s Day afternoon.

The Strikers came out strong and spent most of the first part of the game in Fox Chapel territory, with several shots on goal but were denied by the opposing team’s goalie. Striker goalie Tyler Bingham had some spectacular saves of his own.

It was well into the first half of the game when Curt Womeldorf passed the ball to Bailee Verdill who passed it to an open Dawson Smail who was finally able to punch one in right before halftime, making the score 1-0.

After a rest and a water break, Lexi Coull was able to get one to Bailee who again got it to Dawson Smail, who was able to score making the score 2-0.

Fox Chapel was able to get in good position several times, but were met with the awesome defense of Devon Lauer, Derek Smail and Kaleb Wolbert. Tyler Bingham continued to have a great game in goal! Bailee Verdill had his third assist of the game, when he got the ball to Devon Lauer, who punched it in right before the final whistle.

The game ended with Strikers 3 – Fox Chapel 0.

The CRVS Strikers will have one more home game on Sunday, May 17 and they are 2-2-1
So far this season.
