Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Panthers In Two Overtimes (01/23/16)

The Clarion Area Bobcats downed the homestanding Keystone Panthers 62-61, in two overtimes, on Friday (January 22nd).

Jon Smith had a big game, leading the Cats with 19 points and fifteen rebounds. Five of Smith’s points came in the second overtime. Two other Bobcats scored in double-figures. Brendan Miller and Cameron Craig each had fifteen.

The Bobcats had a 19-8 lead after one quarter and led 22-16 at the half. The Panthers outscored the Cats 19-8 in the third, to take a 35-30 lead into the fourth. An 18-13 Bobcat advantage in the fourth, sent the game into overtime with the score knotted at 48-all.

Each team scored five points in the first overtime and the Bobcats notched the win, with a 9-8 scoring advantage in the second overtime.

Ceventh Lynch-Skunda had 6 points, for the Cats, while Ty Burford added 5, with Reed Anthony contributing two points. Miller, Craig and Skunda each had a three-pointer.

Austin Ion led the Panthers with 24 points and Mason Rearick added sixteen.

The Bobcats will host Union on Monday (January 25th).
