Reed Anthony, Ryan Anthony, and Spencer Miller were first team selections to the 2017 Tri-County Sunday/Courier Express (TCS/CE) baseball all-star team.
Senior Reed Anthony was named to the TCS/CE first team as a pitcher. Reed compiled an 11-1 record on the mound for the Bobcats, surrendering a mere 4 earned runs for an impressive ERA of 0.40. In his 70.1 innings of work, he struck out 76 while issuing only 23 free passes. Opponents batted a miniscule .153 against the crafty left hander. In 2016 Reed received Honorable Mention notice from the TCS/CE. Earlier in the 2017 postseason he was recognized as the KSAC MVP, KSAC first Team Pitcher, KSAC second Team Infielder, and the D9Sports.com Pitcher of the Year.
Ryan Anthony, a Bobcat senior, was selected to the TSC/CE first team as an infielder. Ryan collected 20 hits, among them 2 doubles and a triple, on his way to hitting .321 for the PIAA Class A Runners-up.
He also drew 16 walks, factoring into an on-base percentage of .438. Primarily a second baseman, Ryan had a fielding percentage of .925. Ryan was previously named to the 2017 All-KSAC third team.
Rounding out the trio of Clarion players on 2017 TCS/CE all-star team is Spencer Miller, who earned first team honors as an infielder. Spencer, a junior, banged out 29 hits for the Bobcats, leading to a batting average .412. His 6 doubles, single triple, and 16 walks led to an on-base percentage of .533 and a slugging percentage of .529.
Spencer led Clarion with 18 steals and had a fielding percentage of .895, primarily at shortstop. In 2015 he named to the TCS/CE all-star team as an Honorable Mention selection in 2015.
Earlier this year Spencer was chosen as 2017 All-KSAC first Team Infielder.
