Wreaths Across America Update: Wreaths Will Arrive In Clarion On Wednesday, December 16th; Wreath Laying To Take Place Saturday, December 19th (Posted 12/02/20)

The Wreaths for the Clarion and Immaculate Conception Cemeteries will arrive in Clarion on Wednesday, December 16th. No time for arrival or information on an escort etc. has been established as of yet. Clarion Sports Zone will update when that information is available.

As was the case last year, Chuck Andrews will be driving the Semi loaded with the wreaths into town, accompanied by his sidekick lab Lucy. Clarion Wreaths Across America hopes to give him a warm Clarion welcome like last year, if you have an item you would like to donate to a gift basket for Chuck, including dog treats for Lucy, please contact Coordinator Noreen Shirey at: noreen930@yahoo.com.

Noreen is asking for volunteers to help off-load the boxes of wreaths into pickups and trailers, at the borough lot on Second Avenue and then to unload and store them at the Cemetery garage. Especially needed is for folks to bring their pickups and trailers to shuttle boxes from the semi to the garage.

And volunteers will be needed to lay wreaths, beginning at Noon on Saturday, December 19th. Clarion Sports Zone will pass on more information on Saturday’s event, when available also.

In addition to Clarion, wreaths will be placed this year, the Rimersburg Cemetery, Knox Union Cemetery, Knox’s Salem Lutheran Cemetery, and Knox’s St. Paul’s Union Cemetery (and other cemeteries around Knox) and St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery in Lucinda.

Knox Coordinator Romayne McGinnis has procured wreaths for all ten Knox cemeteries and thanks to S and W Auto Service there are enough wreaths we need to honor the veterans at St. Joe’s.

Thank you to Noreen and all those involved locally and across the nation in this wonderful cause!!!!
