Clarion-Limestone Lions Beat the Ridgway Elkers on the Road in Overtime

The Lions defense had a great showing on the slippery Johnsonburg field.

Goalie Tyler Bingham with his defenders: Carter Brown, Jason Megnin, Quinn O’Neill, Brady Pierce, Quintin Leadbetter kept the Elkers at bay.

The Ridgway team played a nine back defense in an attempt to shut down the through ball style of play that has been successful for the Lions this season.

As a result, regulation play ended in a scoreless game.

With a little over a minute to play in overtime, Bailee Verdill crossed a ball right in front of the Elker’s net and Thomas Uckert was able to boot it in, giving the Lions the only goal of the game and the win!!

The Lions next game is Monday at the Clarion High School field against Elk County Catholic at 6:00 pm.

(Great Work, Lions!!!! Thanks to Mindi Verdill for this article and Mindi and Kristen Geiger for the pics!!)
