The Clarion Area Music Boosters Association will hold the “Grand Opening” of their concession stand at the 2023 Fall Sports Kickoff and Bonfire Tomorrow (Thursday, August 24th), which is set to begin at 7:30. The event recognizes the various Bobcats sports teams as well as the Central Clarion Wildcats Varsity, Junior Varsity and Junior High football teams, cheer squad and dance team and the Clarion-Limestone boys’ soccer team.

The new concession stand, a collaborative effort between the boosters, Clarion Area School District and local businesses, will help to provide funds for the Clarion Area Music program across the board.

Booster, Dana Rudesyle mentioned that the concession stand was provided by the school district and that the cooking and storage equipment is provided by various area businesses and community members, as well as a fundraiser that was held in the spring.

Some of the menu items that will be available, including: hamburgers, hotdogs, walking tacos, pepperoni rolls, pretzels, hot dogs and candy, as well as Gatorade, pop and water.

Mrs. Rudesyle expressed her thanks to those whose efforts made the concession stand a reality.

Clarion Area Junior High and Senior High (6-12) Band Director, Sarah Dotson mentioned the wonderful service the boosters provide for the program. “The Clarion Area Music Boosters Association supports the concert band, choral, and general music programs. Funding through this organization helps provide for new instruments, instrument repair, music purchases, materials for general music, and other equipment necessary for these programs. The concession stand operates to raise money for this purpose.”

Miss Dawson added, “We are so thankful to the district for providing us with a beautiful new space, and to the local businesses and community members for their generous donations of equipment to help us operate and make lots of food for the attendees at sporting events!”

(So, come on out and celebrate the 2023 Fall Sports participants, enjoy the great food while contributing to the music program!!!! Thanks to Mrs. Rudesyle and Miss Dawson for their help with this article!!)
