Bobcat Boys Harriers Run Past Cranberry

In the final dual meet, the Clarion Boys Cross Country team met traditional powerhouse Cranberry, on Wednesday (October 11th), at Cranberry.

The teams have gone toe to toe in several invitationals, with mixed results, Cranberry winning early and Clarion beating them as of late.

Bobcat front runner Jonas Wilshire led all runners, with a winning time of 17:57. Josh Turner, turned in a Personal Record performance finishing second overall in 18:31.

Caleb Heath and Dane Wenner, turned in the top performances for Cranberry in 18:32 and 18:38 finishing third and fourth.

Ben Lambert had a big day, breaking 20 minutes and finishing 6th overall, which helped the Bobcats secure the team win along with Anthony Bartley who finished 21:23 for ninth place overall. Clarion edged the Berries out 26-30 taking places 1,2, 6, 8 and 9.

In the Girls race, Cranberry was dominant taking the top 5 spots lead by Kelsey Hanna in 20:30 however, Raven Cunningham and Cece Bowser both turned in P.R. performances as they prepare for the championship season, starting with the KSAC Championship next Thursday, October 19th, at Clarion-Limestone.

In the Junior High race, there were no team scores but Cooper Mattassa lead all runners in 9:55 over 1.8 miles and Blace Easlon turned in another top performance to lead to junior Bobcats in 10:17. It was a good day, as nearly all the Bobcats ran at or near P.R. performance including Noah Frederick, Cash Gimore and Mchael Troese.

Dane Wenner’s sister, Darien turned in the top run by a girl in 10:44 and Alissa Brooks paced the Bobcats in 12:03.
