Central Clarion Wildcats Marching Band Uniform Fundraiser To Launch Soon, Prototype Of The Band Jacket Is Unveiled
The Central Clarion Wildcats Marching Band, which formed this year, with the Clarion Area Marching Band and Clarion-Limestone Bands combining as one unit, will be launching a fundraiser in in the near future. Students from three school districts, Clarion Area, North Clarion and Clarion-Limestone all participate in the Band.
The fund raising is managed by Bridge Builders. All donations are tax deductible, with 100% of every donation going toward the uniforms.
The name of the organization in charge of the fundraiser is the Clarion Student Enrichment Foundation, which replaces the program previously referred to as the Bobcat Fund.
This is a very straightforward fundraiser, so there are no additives or incentives to donate.
The uniforms are being funded by the Clarion Area School District, with the fundraising campaign to support that cost.
There is no deadline for donations, but the uniforms will be ordered in time for the 2024 Wildcats football season.
There is a QR code as well as a link to donate online. Folks can call the Clarion Area School District central office at 814-226-6110 to discuss how to donate.
There is no hard start date, but a video and other media notices will be rolled in the near future. It is anticipated that donations will be received right up until the fall sports season.
The approximate cost per uniform is between $450 and $500. The individual pieces of the uniform are: Hat, Pants/Trousers, Jacket, Plume (feather for on top of the hat), and decorative cords for the jacket shoulders.
As can be seen by the prototype jackets, the uniforms are a “Work of Art” and flow perfectly with the Wildcats’ Football uniform scheme.
Please note that the “C” logo on the one side will be replaced with a “double C” logo to stand for Central Clarion. There will be decorative cords for the shoulders, with the colors (orange, blue, white) yet to be determined.
The hats will be two-tone navy blue and orange with a white stripe and silver buttons down the middle. The plume (feather on the hats) will be white with silver mylar strands. The pants will be a solid navy blue, with no stripe.
Band Director Miss Sarah Dawson shared some of the benefits of the Bands merging as one unit. “As we have had the pleasure of observing this season, the students are having a great time working together from the three different schools.
“I truly believe that any size of a band can be made to sound powerful, but there is a strength in numbers especially on the football field. With more students given the opportunity to be involved with the co-op marching band, we are able to expand our repertoire of musical selections and field movements to be more advanced and create an exciting show experience.
“Plus, the more kids involved in something positive like band – the better! The students have already done an incredible job coming together and performing an awesome show. It will be even more powerful and exciting with a set of brand-new Wildcats uniforms.”
Clarion Area Superintendent Dr. Joe Carrico had this to say. “We are very excited not only with the marching band this season but for the future of this program. The students, parents, leaders have all been very supportive and the quality of the production is reflective of these efforts!
“The marching band is really becoming a tremendous showpiece for C-L, Clarion and North Clarion and the Wildcats co op!
“We are confident in our leadership and committed to being a positive support network in place for our band students, community, parents and schools.”
Please keep an ear open for future developments and in the meantime please get in touch with the Clarion Area School District central office at 814-226-6110 to discuss how to donate for the purchase of these wonderful uniforms.
