Track And Field Teams Sweep Meets With A-C Valley (04/16/14)

The Clarion Area Track and Field Teams traveled to Foxburg, on Tuesday, and both came away with wins. The Boys won 106-30 and the Girls prevailed by an 88-53 score.

Ian Corbett was a quadruple winner for the Boys, taking the 100 (11.4), 200 (24.5), Long Jump (18-11) and joining Matt Wagner, Cody Hearst and Zach Hill on the victorious 4×100 Relay (46.7).

Liam Raehsler was a double winner. He took the 1600 (4:57.8) and 3200 (10:58.9) and also took second in the 800 behind Antonio Troese (2:18.9) who was also a double winner. Raehsler’s time in the 1600 was good enough to qualify for the District Nine Meet.

Troese joined Prince Brooks, Damien Cherico and Brandon Phillips to win the 4×400 Relay (4:09.9) and also took seconds in the 1600 and Triple Jump. Cherico and Brooks were also double winners as they joined Adam Bettwy, and Nadir Lynch to win the 4×800 Relay (10:11.5). Cherico also took third in the 800.

Josh Kriebel captured the 110 Hurdles (19.8), finished second in the 300 Hurdles and took third in the Triple Jump. Phillips won the 400 (59.3).

Hill won the High Jump (5-2), took a second in the 200 and a third in the 100. Hearst was victorious in the Javelin (125-4).  Ty Burford won the Triple Jump (32-2) and took third in the 300 Hurdles. John Allen took second in the Discus. Matt Wagner took seconds in the 100 and Long Jump. Brooks took second in the 400 and Lynch finished third in the in the same event.

Jenn Ochs was a triple winner for the Lady Cats, taking all the throwing events, Shot Put (28-4), Discus (79-10) and Javelin (119-0). Janelle Toy was also a triple winner as she captured the 800 (2:50.1) and joined Madison Weaver, Chelsea Mason and Forest Mills on the winning 4×400 Relay (5:11.1) and Mills, Mason and Allison Harriger on the victorious 4×800 Relay (12:45.5).

Weaver was a double winner as she also captured the Long Jump (14-10.5). Emily Phillips captured the 400 (1:15.7) and took third in the 800. Hannah Frakes won the 3200 (14:16.4). Laken Ganoe was victorious in the Triple Jump (34-2) and took seconds in the Long Jump and High Jump which was won by Julie Kenneson (4-8). Gloria Kroh finished first in the 100 Hurdles (19.8) and also had thirds in the 300 Hurdles and Triple Jump.

Kyla Miles took second in the 100, Mason in the 400, Mills in the 800 , Harriger in the 1600 and Grace Kroh in the Shot Put. Torie Porter finished third in the 200, Lili Frakes in the 1600, Katie Eustice in the 100 Hurdles and Claire Saylor in the Shot Put.

The Lady Cat 4×100 Relay Team of Laken Ganoe, Grace Kroh, Madison Weaver and Kyla Miles qualified for Districts with a time of  54.6.

The boys will host Clarion-Limestone and Redbank Valley, in a Tri-Meet next Wednesday (April 23), the girls will travel to Redbank Valley, to face those same two schools on the same day.
