Clarion Sweeps Cranberry In Track And Field (04/08/17)

Clarion Area’s Track and Field Teams swept homestanding Cranberry on Wednesday (April 5th). The Girls won 105-36 and the Boys won 89-61.

GIRLS

Wendy Beveridge won three individual events, the 100 (13.5), the long jump (16-0) and the Triple 32-1.5). Gabby Weaver won both the 100hurdles (17.0) and 300 hurdles (52.2). Forest Madison Mills was victorious in the 400 (1:08). Kyara Girvan won the 200 (28.2), while finishing third in the 100.

Lexi Lauer won the high jump (4.9) and was third in the triple jump. Chelsea Mason won the 3200  (13:48) and Natalie Glenn son the discus (74-8).

Laken Lewis took seconds in the 100 hurdles and the high jump. Hannah Phillips took second in the 400 and the triple jump and Phylicia Hockman finished second in both the 300 hurdles and the 200. Meredith Burkhart took second in the shot put and third in the javelin. Imani Turner took second in the javelin and third in the discus. Lauren Troutman was second in the 100.

The Lady Cats swept the relays. Weaver, Beveridge, Girvan and Mills combined for a victory in the 4×100 (56.3). Weaver, Hockman, Phillips and Mills combined to win the 4×400 (4:40) and Alish Nagy, Mason Ali Troese and Hockman won the 4×800 (11:29)

BOYS

Brendan Zerfoss won all  three of the dashes, 100 (11.1), woo (23.7) and 400 (54.0). Jacob Burns won the 300 hurdles (45.0), the long jump 18-7.25) and the triple jump (38-6.75). Archer Mills won the high jump (5-2) and finished third in the 100. Austin Hummell won the 800 (2:16).

Marshall Powers finished second 300 hurdles and in the 100. Tijon Faulk-Taylor finished second and Isaac Kim finished third in the 100 hurdles. Adam Bettwy took second in the 1600 and third in the 3200. Ty Burford was second in the long and triple jumps.

Nick Cherico was second in the shot put. Clay McElravy finished second in the discus and third in both the shot put and javelin. Tom Hearst and HarrisonPorter finished second and third respectively, in the pole vault. Nick Schill was third in the 800.

The Bobcats swept the relays, taking the 4×100 (46.5), the 4×400 (3:55) and the 4×800 (9:14).

The Lady Cats will travel to Karns City on Wednesday (April 12th) to face KC and Moniteau, while the Bobcats will face both schools at Moniteau the same day.
