Camron Kirkland Receives N.F.F. Award And Scholarship (03/20/13)

Camron Kirkland, who completed an outstanding football career for the Clarion Bobcats, this past season, is Clarion High School’s 2013 recipient of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame – Central Pennsylvania Chapter’s Scholar Athlete Award winner.

Camron was among 40 plus student athletes from member high schools and Pennsylvania colleges to be honored at the Chapter’s 16th annual banquet, held at the Penn Stater Conference Center, in State College, on Sunday March, 17th.

In addition to receiving the Scholar Athlete Award, Camron was one of twelve student athletes to receive a $1000 Scholarship from the Chapter.

Award winners and Scholarship recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, athletic achievement and extracurricular/community service participation.

Camron joins five other Clarion Awardees: Ryan Johnson (2009), Pat Tack (2010), Dan Walters (2011) and Patrick Mehta (2012).  Pat and Patrick were also Scholarship winners.

The Main Speakers at this year’s event were Bill O’Brien, Head Coach, Penn State University and Matt Rhule, Head Coach, Temple University.

Camron is the son of Pastor Trent and Pam Kirkland.
