(By Coach Jason Craig)

Clarion’s B-Team was split into two separate teams as they traveled to Chicora to take on the Gremlins of Karns City. The first game did not go very well for the Bobcats. Karns City came out fast  and controlled the game to take a 14-0 at the end of the first period and cruising to a final score of 50 – 13. Archer Mills was the leading scorer for Clarion with 6 points. Marshall Powers and Henry Baldwin each contributed 3 points and Jake Burns chipped in with 1.

The second game featured Clarion’s 7th graders. This game was much closer. Jake Burns came out with the hot hand, scoring 5 points in the first quarter. However, Karns City held a 10-8 lead after the period. Burns kept the shooting touch going in the second, scoring all 4 of Clarion’s points. The Bobcat defense held the Gremlins to just 2 points in the second quarter and the score was tied at 12 at halftime. Karns City outscored the Bobcats 10 – 7 in the third quarter and 9 – 4 in the final quarter to set the score at 31 – 23 in favor of the Gremlins. The team battled very hard throughout the entire game and never gave up. Jake Burns led all scorers with 13 points. Archer Mills added 8 points and Isaac Kim made 2 free throws. For Karns City, T. Yough and A. Falher were top scorers with 7 points apiece.
