(By Matt Lerch)

On February 24th, 2014 the Clarion County YMCA’s Tang Soo Do program held a self-defense clinic for the Clarion branch of the Civil Air Patrol, or C.A.P. The session consisted of teaching the young men and women of C.A.P how to escape quickly and efficiently from aggressive and hostile situations. These defenses can be used and applied by anyone regardless of the users’ strength.

The clinic was done with the help of Mr. Jeff Craig and Mr. Ian Carroll, who are both second degree black belts in Tang Soo Do and Instructors of the program. There was also assistance by Gary S. Josefik, sixth degree black belt and a master in Tang Soo Do, plus other assistants who take part in class in Clarion as well.

Anyone seeking further information about Tang Soo Do or self-defense in general can stop by Joe’s Gym in Clarion at 7:00 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays or contact the YMCA at (814) 764-3400.
