Liam Raehsler Captures 3200 At DeMans Invitational, Other Cats Do Well Also (04/06/14)

The Clarion Area Boys and Girls Teams participated in the 16th Annual DeMans Team Sports Track and Field Invitational, at Brookville High School, on Saturday. Nineteen teams competed in this year’s meet.

Bobcat, Liam Raehsler captured the 3200, in a photo finish, crossing the finish line just 2/100ths of a second in front of Coudersport’s Devan Cavanaugh. Raehsler completed the run in 10:42.93. Cavanaugh finished in 10:42.95.

Raeshler joined Adam Bettwy, Damien Cherico and Antonio Troese for a 5th place finish, in the 4×800.

Ian Corbett took second in the 100 with an 11.55 and third in the Long Jump with a leap of 19’-11.” Corbett, along with Cody Hearst, Matt Wagner, and Zach Hill finished second in the 4×100 relay. The Cats missed out on first place, coming in just over a 10th of a second behind Mercer. The Mustangs’ time was 47.39 and the Bobcats time was 47.5.

Troese finished in fifth place in the 800 with a time of 2:12.51.

Jenn Ochs and Julie Kenneson had the best finishes for the Lady Cats, with Ochs taking third in the Javelin, with a throw of 103’-0’ and Kenneson finishing third in the High Jump going 4’-10.”

Laken Ganoe finished 4 th in the Triple Jump, with a leap of 32’-9.25” and Madison Weaver finished 6th in the Long Jump at 14’-3.75.” The 4×100 relay team consisting of Ganoe, Weaver, Grace Kroh and Kyla Miles ran a 55.33, good for a 6th place finish.

Receiving the Clint Puller Memorial Award for outstanding performances were two Dubois athletes. Chereese Langley won for the girls and Matthew Nedzinski claimed the boys award. Langley won both the 100 and 200 and was a member of the second place 4×100 relay team. Nedzinski won the 100 and 200. He finished second in the 400 and was also part of the 4×100 relay team that captured first place.
