Neither team scored in the first inning. The Cardinals scored three runs, in the top of the second. The Bobcats answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning, when Thomas Plummer led off and made it to second on an error by a DCC outfielder. He stole third and then scored, on a balk, to make the score DCC 3 – Clarion 1.

Clarion held DCC scoreless, in the top of the third. Tanner Corbett opened the bottom of the inning, with a single to right. After stealing 2nd and 3rd, he scored on a Matt Verne single to right, tightening the score to 3-2, DCC.

Three more Cardinal runs, in the top of the fourth, upped their lead to 6-2. Clarion failed to answer in the bottom of the inning, but held the Cardinals off the board, with a 1-2-3 top of the fifth.
