Constantino and Shumaker shared the pitching duties for Janney. Constantino threw the first two innings and Shoemaker the last two. Combined, they gave up nine hits, 9 walks, and struck out 8.
Coach Constantino shared these thoughts on his team and coaches, “It was an absolute pleasure coaching these girls this year. These girls worked hard over the three months of the season. They practiced hard and played hard. They won a total of 18 games this season.
“Every girl on the roster contributed and played a vital role on the team. Kaitlyn was a storm trooper on the mound for us all season and was consistent night in and night out. Nikki Shumaker was a fantastic catcher but also pitched very well for us. Our infield of Kalinowski, Dunn, Campbell, and K. Girvan was solid all season long. Our outfield of Sierra Brown, Aryana Girvan, Morgan Ross, Johanna Suter, and Carlley Hunter played extremely well all season and made super plays throughout the year.
“Every girl on the team contributed offensively over the course of the season and could put the ball in play. But even more important than their abilities on the field, they are good young ladies and fun to be around.

“I also would like to thank my assistant coaches, Craig Dunn and Kim Constantino. They are extremely knowledgeable and served as tremendous role models for the girls. It was a great season all the way around.”
(Thanks to Manager Dave Constantino for this coverage and all the fine coverage he has provided all season. Congratulations to Tournament Champion – Janney, Second Place -Farmers and the other teams for a successful 2014 Clarion Area Little League Softball Season!!!!)
