The defending District Nine Class-A Champion Bobcats were very impressive, as they scored 6 touchdowns and held the Stingers out of the endzone.

The visiting Stingers, opened on offense, but were held to just 30 yards, by the stingy Bobcat defense.

Ian Corbett opened the scoring by going 70 yards to paydirt, on the first play of the Cats’ first offensive series. On the second play, Destin Strauser ran for 42 yards and two plays later, he ran 26 yards for a touchdown. The seventh play, of the 10 play series, saw Corbett score again, this time from 62 yards out.

Thomas Plummer picked up 8 yards on two carries in the opening series.

The Bobcat defense, which was stellar all day, held Marion Center to 25 yards on their second set of 10 plays.

Marion Center had a fine defensive series, the next time the Cats had the ball.

After Corbett opened the series with a 37 yard run, the Stingers played some hard nosed defense. Clarion finished the series with 25 net yards and no score. But the Bobcat defense decided turnabout is fair play, and limited the Stingers to just 15 yards, on Marion Center’s next series.

Brendan “Bo” Miller completed a ten yard pass to Plummer, to open the Cats’ third series, followed immeadiately by a nice 60 yard touchdown run by Colton Rapp.  Jacob Troutman had a nice 20 yard run, and Bo Miller connected with Adrian Weber for a 15 yard completion, in the series.

The Bobcat JV’s had a number of big plays once they hit the field: Josh Krieble had a 25 yard run. Rapp had a 49 yard touchdown run, combined with runs of 23 and 20 yards. Spencer Miller found Ty Burford for a 25 yard TD completion and also conected with Kyle Patterson for a 15 yard gain. Michael McCloskey added a 10 yard run.

This was a good outing for the Cats, who will travel to West Branch for their final tune-up, this coming Friday night (August 22nd).
