Bobcat Boys And Girls Golf Teams Both Doing Well (09/01/14)

The Clarion Area Boys and Girls Golf Teams are doing well. Boys Coach, Jay Kerle provided this summary of recent action from both teams.

Girls
The girls opened the season with a match at Clarion Oaks on August 19th. We only had three girls play that day so we did not card a team score. Tylin Conner (clarion) was medalist with a 48. Lydia Thompson from AC valley took second and Julie Kenneson (clarion) tied for third.

Claire Saylor was fifth. AC valley won with a team score of 214.

The girls traveled to Foxburg last Monday (August 25). Clarion won as a team with a score of 223. Carina Burns (Clarion) was medalist with a 51. Julie Kenneson was second with a 55. Claire Saylor had a 58 and Tylin Conner had a 59.

Boys

Clarion placed sixth as a team in the 3rd mega match of the year at Hi-Level, last Thursday (August 28).

Clarion’s Jared Bish tied Keystone’s Amber Hess for medalist with 35’s. Other Bobcat scores were Derek Lauer 43, John Allen 46, Prince Brooks 53, Alex Struble 57 and Mark Lui 61.

Jared’s hard work and determination has got him off to a good start this year. He is currently leading the KSAC in the individual standings, by 6 shots. Derek is currently 8th in the KSAC and looking climb towards the top.

This is the first year for John, Alex, Prince and Mark. They are working hard and making great improvements so far this season. Keep up the good work guys!

The Boys travel to Wanago on Friday (September 5).
