Lady Cats Volleyball Team Downs Altoona In Straight Sets (09/25/14)

The homestanding Clarion Area Lady Cats Volleyball Team downed Altoona, in Non-Conference action on Wednesday (September 29).

Clarion won in straight sets, 25-12, 25-20 and 25-19.

Katie Eustice and Anna McNamara each had very good all-around games, in leading the Bobcats. Eustice scored 14 service points, four of them were aces. She also had 6 kills, 22 assists and seven digs. McNamara scored 13 service points with two aces. She had 4 kills, 14 digs and an assist. Anna Reed had a great night, keeping the ball in play, with twenty-three digs. Reed had six service points, including an ace.

Keanna Over also had a very solid all-around game, scoring 6 service points, including an ace. Over 8 kills and nine digs. Jenn Ochs scored one service point and had 4 kills and eleven digs. Brooke Allen had 2 service points, including an ace. Maya Thornton had 3 service points and a dig. Gloria Kroh had an assist and six kills.Johnna Rapp scored one service point and had a dig. Sophie Wolf had 2 kills and a dig.

The JVs lost their contest 2-0 (12-25, 20-25). Alexa Kriebel had 2 aces, 4 kills and four digs. Maya Thornton had an ace, 2 kills and five digs. Sydney Kiser had 2 aces and three digs.  Meredith Burkhart registered two kills,while Maddie McNamara also had a kill. Alexis Constantino had thirteen digs, while Zoe Shaffer and Devon Quinn each had a dig. Chelsea Mason had three digs.

The JVs won their Tuesday (September 23) match against Moniteau, 2-0 (25-22, 25-22). Kiser had 4 aces, 4 kills and seven digs. Constantino registered 2 aces and four digs. Thornton had an ace, 5 kills and three digs.

Quinn had an ace, 3 assists and two digs. Shaffer had two aces, while Shaffer had two aces. Kriebel had 2 kills and four digs.  Rachael Grabiak had one dig. Burkhart had a kill and a dig.
