Ian Corbett Named To Week 8 D9Sports.com Football Honor Roll (10/22/14)

Clarion Bobcat Football player Ian Corbett has been named to the D9Sports.com Football Honor Roll for week 8. Corbett was named for his stellar play in the Bobcats’ 41-0 win over St. Marys.

Corbett carried the ball 21 times for 100 yards and a touchdown. He also had 101 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on three catches. In addition, he returned a fumble for a ten yard touchdown.  This is Corbett’s fifth time to be honored by D9Sports.com. He has been Honorable Mention, four times as well as being named Co-Player of the Week with Dubois’ Gabe French, in week six.

French, who is this week’s Player of the Week had a hand in seven Beavers’ touchdowns in their 77-21 victory over Franklin. French threw for 6 touchdowns, going 19 0f 23 for 431 yards. He also ran for 84 yards and a touchdown.

This is French’s fourth time (including week six Co-Player of the Week) that French has received the top honor. Joining French, among this week’s honorees were teammates Devin Clark and Kevin Foley, who were Honorable Mention.

In addition to Corbett, others from the KSAC to be named Honorable Mention were: Lane Cicciarelli – Union, Jake Dougherty – Redbank Valley, Collin Dunmyre – Karns City and Dakota Thomas – Punxsutawney.

Others from around the rest of District 9 named to the team include: Anthony Benson – Brockway, Caleb Burnside – Cameron County, Cody Spaid – Clearfield, Tyler Lansberry – Curwensville, John English – Kane, Seth Drummond – Otto-Eldred, Tre Garzel – Port Allegany and Marquis Clark – Sheffield.
