The two Bobcat seniors, Derek Lauer and Thomas Plummer each had good nights. Lauer scored 9 points and Plummer had 6 points and eight steals, for Clarion, who held leads of 18-11 after one and 33-28 at the half. The score was tied 52-all heading into the final quarter.

The last frame saw the Cats score 31 points to the Fires nine.

Three Bobcats scored in double figures. Taylor Smith and Ceventh Lynch-Skunda each had 20 points and Cam Craig had eighteen. Smith had 4 three-pointers and Lynch-Skunda had a trey.

Ty Burford had 4 points, while Reed Anthony, Ryan Anthony and Christian Smith each contributed two points.

Coach Todd Smith had this to say about his Plummer and Lauer, “I want to say a special thank you to our two seniors. They have been excellent examples and have given 3 solid years to the varsity program.

“The word I would use to describe Thomas is ‘hustle’. He has excellent quickness and jumping ability and has used that to be a good defender and rebounder. He is all over the court.

“The word I would use to describe Derek is “determination”. He has worked hard all year to prove himself. He improved his defense and his ability to drive to the basket and has been a big contributor as the season has progressed.”

Coach Smith shared these comments about the game, “We still have a few games left, but I am proud of their efforts and attitudes.

“It was a nice win for our team. Ceventh and Cam really stepped up in the 4th quarter and both had career highs in scoring.

“We have had some trouble getting to the foul line lately and tonight we were 27 for 35. That was awesome to see.”

(Congratulations to the Bobcats on a nice win and special congratulations to seniors Thomas Plummer and Derek Lauer and their parents on these two fine young men’s careers!!!!)
