There were twenty-five teams in the tournament comprised of schools in both Class AA and AAA schools. The  top 3 place winners in each weight class qualify for the State Meet which will be held at Hershey.

This is the second year for the District Tournament. The Bobcats had one wrestler qualify for States in last year’s inaugural tournament. This year, Clarion Area has four wrestlers headed to States.

Making the trip to Hershey will be Colt Stimmell, Korbin Schill, Seth Nellis and Tom Wurster.

Stimmell won the 167 pound Championship. Schill was runner-up at 210. Nellis and Wurster had third place finishes at 167 and 250 respectively

Four other Bobcats finished in fourth place: Login Dehner at 80, Sterling Conner at 130, Bryce Klawuhn at 155 and Ben Smith at 165. (If any of the top three wrestlers, in any weight class is not able to compete at Hershey, due to injury or any other reason, then the fourth place winner would move on to States.)

The Cats had two fifth place finishers, at Districts, Frankie Weber at 122 and Justin Goodman at 155.

Other Bobcats who competed on Sunday were: Dan Ketner, John McSwain, Will Silvis and Riley Slagle.

Coach Lee Weber said, “It was a great finish by our Junior High Bobcats!”

(Thanks to Coach Weber for information for this article and thanks to Coach Dave Smail for the photo. Nice showing Bobcats!!!! Continued success at States, Colt, Korbin, Seth and Tom!!!!)
