Riversharks Post Wins At Brookville Invitational Swim Meet (02/21/15)

The Clarion County YMCA swim team competed in the Brookville YMCA Splash the Love Valentine’s Day Invitational Swim meet on Saturday, February 14th. The Clarion Riversharks competed with swimmers from Ridgway, DuBois and Brookville.

The meet offered swimmers a combination of up to three individual events and two relays. Several Clarion Swimmers came out on top with fast times and finished well.

Parker Boyden and Brayden Murray had an excellent meet, posting three first place wins apiece in three individual events.

Boyden won the 100 Yard Freestyle (1:10.26), the 50 yard Butterfly (38.93) and the 100 yard IM (1:24.78). Murray won the 50 yard Backstroke (42.73), the 50 yard Breaststroke (47.62) and the 100 yard Breaststroke (1:49.82).

Boyden and Murray are PA West District qualifiers in the 9-10 age group.

Bailee Verdill, Jozee Weaver, Beau Verdill , Mason Burns, Grace Schmader and Alayna Murray also had a great meet with individual top three finishes for the Riversharks. All are PA West District qualifiers individual events.

Adding additional individual top finishes for the Riversharks were Kylan Clark, Joseph Spence, Jocalyn Henry, Joyce Kim, Natalie Durish, Alicyn Burford, Zachary Dean, Wyatt Boyden, Jake Nowaczyk, Avery Faller, Acacia Felmlee, James Dittman, Isabella Texter, Bethany Cater, Jacob Hull, Zachary Dean and Mykenzie Cox.

Clarion also claimed awards for 1st place relay finishes:
1st Place, Mixed 8 & Under 100 Yard Freestyle Relay
Natalie Durish, Joseph Spence, Jake Nowaczyk, Wyatt Boyden

1st Place, Mixed 8 & Under 100 Yard Medley Kick Relay
James Dittman, Jacob Hull, Jake, Nowaczyk, Avery Faller

1st Place, Mixed 14 & under 100 Yard Freestyle Relay
Wyatt Boyden, Parker Boyden, Alayna Murray, Mason Burns

The Clarion County YMCA Riversharks will finish out the regular season this weekend with a 12 team Championship meet at Clearfield YMCA.
