Bobcat Varsity Wrestlers Complete Successful Season (03/10/15)

The Clarion Area Varsity Wrestling Team recently completed their very successful 2014-15 season.

Coach Rob Sintobin’s Bobcats had a dual meet record of 10-4. They finished in Fifth Place, in the District Nine Class-AA Tournament,  held at Tippin Gymnasium and were just one point out of Fourth Place.

Individually, the Bobcats had four District Nine place winners. They were led by junior Zach Sintobin, who won the 195lb Championship.

Clarion had three Second Place winners: senior Jake Troutman (170), junior Alex Struble (106) and freshman Colton Rapp (145). Junior Alex Burkhart (182) finished in Fourth Place. They all moved on to the Northwest Regional Tournament held at Sharon High School (the five Regional  Qualifiers may be a record for Clarion Area).

Sintobin finished in Third Place at the Regional Meet, which qualified him for the PIAA State Meet, at the Giant Center in Hershey. He finished in the Top 12 in the State at 195.

With three of the four returning next year, along with some other solid wrestlers and wrestlers moving up from a successful Junior High Program, the 2015-16 promises to be another successful one for the Bobcats.

(Thanks to Coach Sintobin for information for this article. Great Season, Bobcats!!!!)
