Jacob Troutman Is Clarion Area HS 2015 National Football Foundation And College Hall Of Fame Honoree (03/24/15)

The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame held their Annual Banquet at the Penn Stater Conference Center in State College, on Sunday March 22nd.

Jacob Troutman was Clarion Area High School’s honoree this year. The senior running back and defensive lineman, was honored with other student athletes (high school and college) from throughout Central Pennsylvania.

Criteria for receiving the honor include: scholarship, citizenship and athletic achievement.

Among those accompanying Jacob at the banquet were his parents, Greg and LuNeda Troutman and Clarion Football Coach Larry Wiser.

This Year’s Keynote Speaker was Former Penn State Nittany Lion, Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions lineman Jeff Hartings. In addition to his inspirational speech, Hartings displayed his State High School Championship, Big Ten Championship and Super Bowl Championship rings.

Receiving Lifetime Achievement Awards were: John Hayes, Bellwood-Antis (Coaching); Ed Conklin, Pine Grove Mills (Officiating); and Ron Bracken, Centre Daily Times (Journalism and Media [Fran Fisher Media Award]). Sam McCloskedy received the Joe Sarra Community Service Award.
