Zach Sintobin Advances To State Wrestling Meet (03/04/15)

Clarion Area junior, Zach Sintobin has advanced to the PIAA State Wrestling Championships, which will be held Thursday through Saturday ( March 5th – 7th) at the Giant Center in Hershey.

Sintobin moves on by virtue of his 3rd place finish at the Northwest Regional Class-AA Tournament at Sharon High School. He lost a close 6-4 match to Lakeview’s Marquis Spence in the quarter-finals, then came back to win four straight to secure his trip to Hershey.

Sintobin scored a 10-1 major decision over Austin Gregerson of Sheffield, in the First Round Consolations, then pinned Austin Hulings of Kane in the Consolation Quarter-Finals. In the Consolation Semi-Finals, he won a 2-1 in double overtime over Sharpsville’s Chris Mueller. Sintobin closed out the tournament with a 7-3 overtime win against Ryan Geyer of Ridgway.

Four other Bobcats competed at Regionals: Alex Struble (106), Colton Rapp (145), Jacob Troutman (170) and Alexander Burkhart (182). Struble and Troutman each won a match in the tournament.
