Bobcats Fall In District Nine Baseball Championship (05/29/15)

The Clarion Area Bobcat Baseball Team fell to Oswayo Valley, 10-0 in six innings in the District Nine Class-A Championship Game at Berwind Park in St. Marys on Thursday (May 28th).

This was the Green Wave’s first district championship. They had ten hits and scored three runs in the bottom of the first, two in the second two in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the sixth.

The Bobcats had two hits, one by Derek Lauer and one by Thomas Plummer.

Oswayo Valley pitcher Garren Black threw four strikeouts and hit two singles. Dylan Bucholz had a pair of doubles.

The Bobcats, now 14-4, are the number-two seed out of District Nine and will take on District Ten Champion, Eisenhower, on Monday at 3:30, at Ainsworth Field in Erie, in the first round of the PIAA State Playoffs.

Oswayo Valley, now 20-2, moves on to face District 7 (WPIAL) runner-up California, at Showers Field in Dubois on the same day.
