Lady Cats Volleyball Team Downs Cranberry In D-9 Opener (11/05/15)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats downed the visiting Cranberry Lady Berries 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-15), on Tuesday (November 3rd), in a District Nine Class-A Volleyball, opening round match.

After being tied 6-6, in the first game, the Lady Cats outscored the Lady Berries19 to 6, to come away with a 25-12 win. Maya Thornton had two three-point service runs and Gloria Kroh had a five-point service run in the game.

The second game saw the Cats, come away victorious, at 25-10. Anna Reed had a five-point service run and Kroh had a four-point run, as did Alexis Constantino.

The Lady Cats finished by winning game three 25-15. With the Bobcats down 12-9, Reed had a service run of eleven points, giving Clarion a 20-12 lead.

The Lady Cats played a very solid, all-around match, with good service, digs, set-ups and blocks.

Lady Cat Stats:

Reed had 16 points and nine digs. Kroh had 9 points, 26 assists, 7 digs and six kills. Maya Thornton had 9 points, 8 kills and six digs. Alexis Constantino had 8 points and six digs, Olivia Burns scored 5 points and had 6 kills and nine digs and Keanna Over scored two points and had 6 kills and eight digs.

Sophie Wolf had four kills. Dot Kalinowski had three kills.

The Lady Cats travel to Redbank Valley for a quarterfinal match today (Thursday, November 5th).
