Varsity Football: Bobcats Fall To Bulldogs In Senior Night Contest (10/30/15)

The Clarion Area Bobcats hosted the Redbank Valley Bulldogs, on Friday (October 30th), at Memorial Stadium, for the Cats’ Senior Night game.  The Bulldogs came out on top 34-10, in the game would decide the KSAC Small School Championship.

Redbank Valley scored on the opening possession, when Conner Shoemaker hit Wyatt Hetrick with a 41 yard touchdown pass. Clint Thurston hit the PAT, giving the Dogs a 7-0 lead at 10:44 of the first quarter.

The Cats came back to tie the game, at 7-all, on a 16 yard run by Brendan Miller, with 5:59 left in quarter number two. Cameron Craig was successful, kicking the extra point.

 

With 2:32 left in the half, Shoemaker and Hetrick hooked up for another score. This one covered 80 yards. The PAT was successful giving the Bulldogs a 14-7 lead.

Craig kicked a 28 yard field goal, as time ran out in the half, to pull the Bobcats to within four, at 14-10.

Redbank would score three times in the second half, while holding Clarion out of the end zone.

Shoemaker had a one yard touchdown run, with 7:00 left in the third. The PAT failed and the Bulldogs led by ten – 20-10. A pair of fourth quarter, Hetrick touchdown runs, one for 9 yards at 7:25 and the other, a 15 yard run at 2:14 would seal the win. Thurston was good on both PATs.

Colton Rapp led the Bobcats, with 64 yards rushing. Kyle Patterson had 16 tackles, Colt Stimmell had 14 and Brendan Miller had 13 and an interception.

The Bobcats will play their final regular season game at Brookville on Friday (November 6th). This will be a key game, as the Bobcats, Union and Keystone have an identical 5-4 records, with the playoff picture not yet decided.
