Bobcats Fall To Union (01/25/16)
The Clarion Area Boys Basketball Team fell to visiting Union, this evening (Monday, January 25th), 57-49.
The Golden Knights held a slim 9-5 lead after one and a 20-16 lead at halftime. Union had a 14-7 scoring advantage in the third, to move the lead to 34-23 heading into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter was a high scoring affair, with the Bobcats exceeding their output from the first three quarters, by scoring twenty-six points, but the Knights answered with twenty-three points of their own. The Cats pulled to within three points twice in the last quarter and were within five, 51-46, late in the game before Union went on a 6-0 run, to move out to an eleven point lead at 57-46. A late three pointer by Reed Anthony set the 57-49 final.
Jon Smith led the Bobcats with 15 points, followed by Cameron Craig’s thirteen points. Reed Anthony and Ty Burford each had six points. Ceventh Lynch-Skunda scored 4 points, Ryan Anthony had 3 and Brendan Miller had two.
Cole Morris led Union with twenty-three points, followed by Lucas Bowser’s thirteen.
The Bobcat JVs won their game, 54-32. they led 16-6 after one, 25-17 at the half and 46-19 after three.
Spencer Miller had eleven for the Bobcats. Archer Mills and Drew Whren each had 10 and Zack Bauer had eight. Tom Hearst bucketed 6 points and Austin Hummell scored four. Brendan Zerfoss and Victor Stahlman each had two points.
Jesse George had 8 points for the Knights.
The Bobcats will host Venango Catholic on Wednesday (January 27th).
