Softball: Lady Cats Down Venango Catholic And Cranberry (03/31/16)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats Baseball Team played twice this week, downing homestanding, Venango Catholic 25-9, in three innings, on Tuesday (March 29th) and defeating visiting Cranberry 10-8 on Wednesday (March 30th).

The Bobcats scored eighteen in the first, six in the second and one in the third against the Lady Vikings. VC’s runs all came in the bottom of the third.

Anna Reed had 5 hits, including 3 triples and four RBIs. Johnna Rapp had 4 hits, with three RBIs. Keanna Over had 4 hits, including a double and a triple and drove in four runs.

Alexis Constanino contributed three his. Carly best, Liz Saver, MacKenzie DiTullio and Cora Zerfoss each had two singles.

Clarion scored five runs in the bottom of the first, against Cranberry. The Berries scored two in the second and five in the third. The Bobcats came back with three in the fifth. Cranberry closed out the scoring with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Maya Thornton had two singles. Anna Reed, Cora Zerfoss and Keanna Over each had a hit.

Alexis Constantino picked up the win, striking out three.

The Lady Cats will visit Kane, next Wednesday (April 6th).
