The team is always psyched when they travel to Kinzua since the Kinzua teams are usually at the top of the standings and today would be no different. This was the first time the team was to play at the Warren Stadium. I am going to apologize for the lack of details since I put my notes away when we started getting pelted with giant rain drops!

The first half was a hard fought battle with the majority of the game being played in front of Striker goalie Chance Buzard. He made countless saves and had great support from his defenders Lucas Baker, Jenna Miller and Trinity Thompson. There was so much action in front of the goal one was bound to get past him. Kinzua was able to take advantage of an incidental handball inside the 18. The halftime score was Kinzua 2 Strikers 0.

The Strikers went into the second half a bit winded since they were down 3 players and there were no guest players available to sub. But they came out looking good and were able to spend some time at Kinzua’s end of the field and have some shots on goal.

It was Striker Ali Clark that was able to get one past the Kinzua goalie for her first goal of the season! Kinzua 2 – Srtikers 1. The Strikers found some new energy and right before the end of the game Owen Kerle fired one in to tie the score at 2!
The CRVS Teams have this weekend off, but 4 of the 5 teams will meet at the County Park on Sunday June 5th, for their final games of the season. Come out and cheer them on!!

(Thanks to Mindi Verdille for this article and photos. Good work, Strikers!!!!)
