Bobcats And Lady Cats Cross Country Teams Have Strong Showing At A-C Valley (09/23/16)

All four Clarion Bobcat Cross Country Teams had strong performances at A-C Valley, on Thursday, September 22nd.
For the varsity boys, Adam Bettwy was the overall winner (17:32), Nathaniel Lerch (18:42) came in 3rd behind Clarion-Limestone’s Andrew Forest, and Jimmy Smathers (19:29) finished 4th overall.
Clarion boys took the first 8 out of 9 finishing spots. A-CV/Union did not have enough runners for a team score.
For the varsity girls, Chelsea Mason finished 2nd behind C-L’s Hannah Rittenhouse (21:36) with a time of 21:39, Katie Craig finished third overall (21:46), and Leticia Negri (24:35) came in as Clarion’s 3rd top runner in 6th place overall. A-CV/Union girls did not have enough runners for team scoring.
The Clarionn Area Junior High Boys defeated A-CV/Union 24-33 with Donnie Cunningham as the overall winner (13:41), Kaegan Phillips in 4th (14:22), and Gavin Hoover in 7th (14:35). The Clarion Junior High Girls also defeated A-CV/Union 24-32 with Evelyn Lerch as the overall winner (13:59), Isabella Scott finished 3rd (14:57), and Payton Simko 5th overall (15:51).
The Bobcats have a 3-1 record for the season so far. The varsity teams travel to Hershey this Saturday for the PIAA Foundation Invitational on the PA State Championship course.
