U14 Strikers Start The Season Strong With 2 Wins! (09/20/16)

The U14 Striker team has started the season strong with 2 wins! Under the spectacular coaching of Thomas Hummel the team has pulled together to beat Meadville for their opening game at Meadville on September 11th. The final score was Strikers 8 Meadville 0.

Austin Coull had the first goal. The second goal was on a pass from Koby Buzard to Beau Verdill to Evalyn Lerch to make the score 2-0 right before halftime.

Koby Buzard had the assist on Lerch’s second goal 3-0. Austin Coull had his second goal from a penalty kick 4-0. Riley Burford sent the ball to Beau Verdill who scored to make it 5-0. Eva Lerch had her third goal to make the score 6-0.

Bailee Verdill had a shot on goal that was batted away by Meadville’s goalie, but Owen Kerle was in place for the rebound to make the score 7-0. Bailee Verdill had the last goal for the team right before the end of the game to make the final score 8-0.

The Strikers second win was home against an always tough Kinzua team. The teams met at the CUP Stadium on Sunday, September 18th. The U14 team always looks good on the larger fields and that held true in this game.

The opening goal was on a pass from Korrin Burns to Eva Lerch to make the score 1-0. The second goal was off a pass from Nate Megnin to Eva Lerch for a score of 2-0.

Kinzua was able to get one in past the goalie to make the score 2-1.

Beau Verdill was able to get the ball in perfect position off a corner kick for Bailee Verdill to score right before the half for a 3-1 Striker lead. The last goal of the game was off another corner kick from Beau Verdill with Korrin Burns in position to score.

Final score: Strikers 4 – Kinzua 1.

The U14 team travels to Greenville on Sunday, September 25th.
