Junior High Boys Basketball B-Team Downs North Clarion (01/27/17)

(By Coach Jason Craig)

On Tuesday the 24th, the Clarion Jr. High Boys Basketball teams traveled to North Clarion to take on the Wolves. The B-Team had 7 different players score as they won their third straight game by a score of 25 – 4. Their record is now 3 – 0.

Christian Simko scored four points in the first quarter and Aidan Quinn added two as the Bobcats won the opening frame 6 – 1. Clarion kept up the scoring in the second quarter with Simko (3), Chase Kriebel (2), Luca Cherico (2) and Cam Lapinto added a free throw as the Bobcats lead at the half 14 – 3.

Ryan Alston, Lapinto and Simko each made a basket in the third as Clarion won the quarter 6 – 1 and headed into the final frame with a 20 – 4 lead.

This quarter belonged to Ezra Brooks. Ezra played solid defense for the Bobcats by pressuring their point guard and even had a steal in the quarter. All that hard work on D paid off as Ezra scored his first 2 points of the season.

I would like to thank a young man by the name of Adam (I didn’t get his last name…#40) and to the North Clarion fans for showing a tremendous amount of sportsmanship and character. The selfless act of kindness displayed at the end of the game meant so much to Ezra. His parents and school should be so proud of him!

For the Bobcats, Simko lead the way with 9 points. He was followed by Alston (4), Quinn and Lapinto (3), and Brooks, Cherico and Kriebel (2).

North Clarion got 3 points from Caleb, #10, a free throw from Izaac M, #31 and 1 outstanding assist by Adam….thanks again!

(Thanks to Coach Craig for this article. Good Work, Bobcats!!!!)
