Junior High Boys Basketball B-Team Victorious Against Forest Area (01/27/17)

After starting the season with three road games in a row, the Clarion Jr. High Boys basketball team was back on their home court as they took on the Forest Fires on Thursday, January 26th.

The B-Team started off hot, outscoring the Fires 9 – 2 in the opening frame. Christian Simko had the touch, scoring 5 of those points while Aidan Quinn and Cam Lapinto each added two.

Simko and Lapinto kept it going in the second period, outscoring the Fires 10 – 5. Lapinto made two baskets and also went 2 for 2 from the line. Simko had 4 points in the period. Clarion would head into the break with a 19 – 7 lead.

It was a slow start to the second half as each team could manage only 4 points in the third quarter, but Clarion still lead the game by a score of 23 – 11. Luca Cherico and Quinn each had a basket for the Bobcats.

Clarion got the scoring going again in the final period, outscoring the Fires 8 – 2 to win the game 31 – 13. Quinn had 4 more points in the frame while Ryan Alston and Cherico each added two.

For the Bobcats, Simko lead the way with 9 points. Quinn and Lapinto each added 8 points, Cherico had 4 and Alston finished with two.

For the Fires, Allen Johnston scored a team high 5 points. Dan Kuntz (4), Kaden McFarland and Ryan Parrett (2) also scored for Forest.

The win moved the B-Team to 4 – 0 on the season with a big game coming up on Monday as they host the Keystone Panthers.
