Lady Cats Finish Third In Kane Holiday Tournament (01/01/17)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats competed in the Kane Christmas Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday (December 28th and 29th), finishing third. Dave Constantino shares this article on the Tournament:

First Night: North Clarion 62 Clarion 30

Clarion only trailed by two points after the first quarter, but was outscored by the Lady Wolves 20-2 in the second quarter, in falling to North Clarion 62-30, in the opening game of the Kane Christmas tournament.

Alexis Constantino led the the Lady Cats with 17 points, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Wendy Beveridge followed with 5 points and 2 blocks. Sadie Rudesyle, Kaylie Lutz, Ali Troese, and Kaitlyn Constantino each finished with 2 points. Lutz and Rudesyle both had 4 rebounds apiece. Kate Constantino had 5 rebounds and 5 steals.

 

 
Second Night: Clarion 38 Eisenhower 31

The Lady Cats bounced back strong, on night 2 of the Kane Christmas tournament by defeating, Eisenhower 38 -31. Clarion only led by 1 at the half, but outscored their opponents by 5 in the 3rd quarter and then held on for the 7 point victory.

Alexis Constantino tallied 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Wendy Beveridge finished with 7 points (2 3-pointers), 7 steals , and 4 blocked shots. Kaitlyn Constantino added 6 points and 4 steals. Sadie Rudesyle contributed 4 points 3 rebounds; while, Kyara Girvan chipped in with 4 points and 2 steals. Kaylie Lutz and Ali Troese each added 2 points for the Lady Cats.

Alexis Constantino was named to the All-Tournament team for her two day efforts in the tournament.

Clarion’s record now stands at 2-4 and they will return to action on Wednesday, January 5, in Marienville against the Forest Fires.
