Clark Electric Opens Senior League Softball Season With A Win (07/27/17)

The Clarion area Senior League Softball started the season, Wednesday night (May 24th) at Paul A Weaver Park, with a game between Clark Electric of Clarion and Deible’s Nursery from Knox, with the Final score Clarion 8 – Knox 3.

Clarion started the scoring with 2 runs  in the bottom of the first inning, with hits by Abby Himes and Ava Cherico and heads-up base running.

With Clarion leading 3-1, Knox tied the score in the fourth inning, with hits by Lauren Slaugenhapt , Jenna Stiller and a walk. Then J.C. Pritt drove in 2 runs with double.

Clarion then scored 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth, with Brenna Campbell and Kylee Beers getting base hits and each scoring a run.

Clarion padded the lead in the sixth with 3 runs. Cherico led off with a base hit and Jordy Best hit a ball deep into the gap and never slowed down with an  inside the park home run to score 2 runs. Campbell then followed with a triple and scored the final run.

Beers started on the mound for Clarion and recorded 5 strikeouts. Abby Himes pitched the second half and recorded 5 strikeouts.

Pritt pitched the entire game for Knox. Clarion will next play a night game at A-C Valley, on Wednesday (May 31st).
