Clarion Volleyball Sweeps DuBois Central Catholic To Open District 9 Playoffs (10/30/17)

The third seeded Clarion Bobcat volleyball team opened the District 9 playoffs in impressive fashion on Thursday (10/26), sweeping #14 DuBois Central Catholic 25-12, 25-13, and 25-10.

Maya Thornton paced the homestanding Bobcats’ attack, serving for 14 points (with a team high 6 aces) and slamming down 11 kills.  Lexi Lauer served for a team leading 16 points (4 aces) and had 4 kills of her own.  Kaitlyn Constantino and Brenna Campbell both served for 7 points, with Campbell also putting up 29 assists.  Hailey Sintobin collected 7 kills at the net.

Alexis Constantino led the team with 10 digs on defense, while Lauer followed closely with 9.  Thornton and Sydney Kiser both had 3.

The Bobcats will host #6 Johnsonburg on Tuesday (October 31st) in the quarterfinals.  Johnsonburg advanced by downing #11 Smethport 2-3.
