Volleyball Falls To Otto-Eldred, Will Face Coudersport In D9 Consolations (11/03/2017)

(By CSZ Sportswriter Kenn Staub) The third seed Clarion Bobcats fell to second seeded Otto-Eldred in a District 9 semifinal match on Thursday evening (November 2).  The Terrors swept the Cats, taking the three sets 25-20, 25-19, and 25-16.  Despite the setback, Clarion still has an opportunity to make the PIAA Playoffs, needing to down Coudersport in their consolation tilt this Saturday (November 4).

Maddie Schill served for a team high 7 points and notched 5 kills over the course of the three set match.  Kaitlyn Constantino and Maya Thornton both had 5 points on serve, with Thornton also collecting 4 kills.  The Cats were led in the “kill department” by Sydney Kiser, who slammed 9.   Brenna Campbell paced the team with 20 assists.

Alexis Constantino scooped up 20 digs on defense.  She was followed by Thornton with 9 and Lexi Lauer with 7.

The Bobcats will play fifth seeded Coudersport on Saturday at 9:00AM in St. Marys.  The winner will earn a berth in the PIAA playoffs.  Clarion has played Coudersport once this season, coming away with a one set 25-13 victory in September at the Clarion Area Boosters Tournament.

Top seeded AC Valley will square off against Otto-Eldred for the District 9 title after the Clarion/Coudersport match.
