Umpiring Clinic Date Changed: Moved Back A Week (04/05/2018)

Because of the possibility of poor weather, Clarion Little League’s umpiring training clinic scheduled for this Saturday (April 7) has been postponed to next week. The clinic will now take place on Saturday, April 14 at Paul A. Weaver Park, with the time yet to be determined.

Clarion Little League is currently seeking individuals to serve as base umpires for the coming season. All are welcome to volunteer, especially any young people who are looking to get into umpiring.

In order to participate, the Little League is asking that individuals attend an umpiring training clinic. At the clinic, veteran local umpire Justin Skiba will be reviewing Little League rules, as well as providing field instruction on plate and base mechanics.

Once training has been completed the individual will be eligible to receive payment for umpiring Clarion Little League games. The final game schedule will be completed this week, it being anticipated that league play will begin on April 16th, with Opening Day ceremonies to be held on April 28th.

Do not hesitate to contact League President Brian Smail (brs923@gmail.com) or Umpire-in-Chief Scot Kemmer (kemmer.scot@gmail.com) for additional information or if would like to become an umpire.
