Softball Round-up: Lady Cats Go 4-1 Last Week (05/13/18)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats Softball Team had a busy and productive week,  playing five games, in four days and coming out on top, in three of the four.

Wednesday, May 9th

The homestanding Lady Cats downed Moniteau 14-5.

Maya Thornton had a big game, with a home run, a triple and a single, driving in four runs and scoring three times. Carly Best doubled and had a pair of singles. Brenna Campbell had three hits and drove in a run. Kaitlyn Constantino singled twice.

Sydney Kiser doubled driving in a run, while Alexis Constantino, MacKenzie DiTullio and Sadie Rudesyle each had a hit and an RBI.

Rudesyle was the winning pitcher.

Thursday, May 10th

The Lady Cats traveled to Brookville and handed the Lady Raiders a 14-1 loss.

Alexis Constantino had a mega game at the plate, hitting two triples, a double and two singles while driving in three runners.

Kaitlyn Constantino had a pair of hits and drove in a pair of runs. Campbell had three hits. Best doubled and singled and had two RBIs. Kiser and DiTullio had two hits and an RBI apiece.

Kaitlyn Constantino was the winning pitcher. She had thirteen strikeouts, allowed only four hits and a walk.

Friday, May 11th

Clarion downed visiting Cranberry, 13-3 in five innings.

Campbell had a huge offensive effort, with a triple, a double  and two singles, with three RBIs.

Rudesyle had a pair of singles and a double, driving in three runs. Kaitlyn Constantino had three hits, driving in a pair. Maya Thornton had a triple. Alexis Constantino had one hit and drove in a run. DiTullio, Best and Liz Saver each had a hit.

Saturday, May 12th

The Lady Cats opened the day, traveling to A-C Valley, in the morning, where they downed the Lady Falcons, 13-10.

Campbell hit a home run and also scored another run.

Best had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run. DiTullio had three hits and and scored a pair of runs. Maya Thornton had a pair of hits and crossed the plate three times. Rudesyle had a single and scored a run.

Kaitlyn Constantino had two hits and scored once and picked up the win, while delivering eleven strikeouts.

Clarion returned home, in the afternoon, to face Redbank Valley. The Lady Bulldogs prevailed, in this one, 6-3.

Alexis Constantino had three hits and scored two runs. Campbell had a pair of hits and drove in a run and Kiser tripled.

The Lady Cats, now 9-5 on the season, are scheduled to face Forest Are on Monday (May 14th).
