Bobcat Girls Third At Hi-Level Golf Course For Second Week In A Row (09/07/2018)
(by CSZ Sports Writer Kenn Staub) For the second consecutive match the Clarion girls took on the 2,209 yard, par 34 front nine at Hi-Level Golf Course (Kossuth). As happened in their previous outing, the Bobcats took third on September, 5 behind first place AC Valley and second place Moniteau.
Clarion’s three-person team score of 167 was the product of a 54 by Rachel Howard, 55 by Amanda Matus, and 58 by Maya Patterson. Lauren Winters also competed for Clarion, putting up a 69.
After finishing second in the opening match of the season, the Bobcats have now placed third two weeks in a row. AC Valley has won all the matches played in 2018.
In three matches this season Howard has collected two top five finishes, a third at Clarion Oaks on August 17 and a fourth at Hi-Level last week (August 27). She has a team leading nine hole average of 55.66.
Like Howard, Patterson also has two top five placings to her credit. A fifth at Clarion Oaks and a fourth the previous week at Hi-Level. Her nine hole average is 57.66
Matus is sporting a nine-hole average of 60.33 this season and Winters a 67 average.
The Bobcats are scheduled to play the links-style course at Foxburg Country Club on Monday, September 10.
