Clarion Boys Have Strong Showing In Second Week of Links Action (09/04/2018)

Tuesday, August 28, 2018: Cross Creek Resort

Clarion (245) finished second and had two golfers in the top ten at the KSAC megamatch held on the 3,103 yard, par 35 front nine at Cross Creek Resort.

Individually, Josh Craig (42) was second and Jackson Fox (47) tied for tenth.

Also contributing to the Bobcats’ team score were Lake Staub (48), Mitch Geiger (51), and Login Dehner (57). Cam Lapinto posted a 68.

Clarion-Limestone (239) won the event, six strokes better than Clarion. Forest Area (246) was a stroke behind Clarion in third. Moniteau was fourth with a team score of 251 and Karns City rounded out the top five with a 268.

Thursday, August 30, 2018: Hunter’s Station Golf Club

Clarion’s (248) closed out the second week of KSAC golf action by placing third on the 2,834 yard, par 35 front nine at Hunter’s Station Golf Club.

The Bobcats had three golfers in the top ten, Jackson Fox (45) tied for fourth, while Josh Craig (46) and Lake Staub (46) tied for seventh.

Mitch Geiger’s 53 and Cam Lapinto’s 58 counted towards the Bobcats’ team tally. Login Dehner also competed for Clarion, carding a 63.

Week 2 saw Clarion-Limestone (33) take over the KSAC team lead from Clarion (31). Moniteau (29) dropped to third. Forest Area (27) remained in fourth, while Karns City (18.5) jumped ahead of Cranberry for fifth.

After four events, Clarion’s Josh Craig and Clarion-Limestone’s Hayden Callen share the KSAC’s individual lead with 42.25 averages. Jackson Fox (45.25) was in sixth postion and Lake Staub (46.50) eighth.

The KSAC boys are scheduled to play a magematch today (Tuesday, September 4) at Clarion Oaks Golf Club and Thursday (September 6) at Lake Arthur Golf Club (Butler).
